About SIM Anesthesia

COE-anesthesia-0429For decades, the Boston Children’s Hospital Department of Anesthesia has been at the forefront of simulation applied to health care.  With roots in the world-renowned Center for Medical Simulation, Cambridge, the Department runs multiple successful simulation-based training programs at Boston Children’s geared at every level of expertise and across subspecialities.  Anesthesiologists participate in both individual skills training, orientations,  as well as team training exercises as part of native teams within their native operating rooms.

Additionally, the Department offers the only current Pediatric-specific MOCA training in the country as an ASA endorsed Center. Given its history, it is no surprise that many faculty members from the Department have established careers in the field of simulation and have published widely on the topic.
