Emergency Medicine Attending Simulation (TR.2601.EM)

Background: This is a mandatory “high-signal” course designed to maintain critical care skills for emergency medicine faculty. This course complements the multidisciplinary team training that occurs through the ED Medical CRM and Trauma CRM courses.

Format: 2 hours
Venue: Unit-Based Simulator Suite (UB-Sim)
Frequency: 24 times per year
Participants: Attending Physicians who practice in the Emergency Department

Highlights/Objectives: 

  • Cases are presented to three faculty members by peer facilitators and the simulation staff.
  • Each faculty member leads one scenario while colleagues perform bedside assessment and procedures.
  • Cases are followed by a structured debrief focusing on key medical decisions for each case.
