SIMNetwork Instructor Refresher Course

Course Highlights

This instructor course is designed to further develop trained, local, in-situ facilitators requiring comprehensive simulation training programs within their clinical areas and institutions. This dynamic course will include guided practice of advanced debriefing techniques as well as the introduction of new scenario development.  In addition, the course will tailor conceptual learning to meet the needs of each participant’s specific area, (i.e. NICU, Emergency Department, and Inpatient).



• Prepare thorough learning goals/objectives based on needs assessment data.

• Develop confidence with using advanced debriefing techniques.

• Create comprehensive and stimulating simulation scenarios tailored to participants’ needs.

From the South (Route 128)

• Take Exit 24 for Route 30

• Route 30 is one of several options for this exit so follow carefully

• Turn left at the top of the ramp onto Route 30 West

• Turn Right at the traffic light onto River Road which becomes South Street

• Go past Brandeis University, which is two miles ahead

• Continue about 1/2 of a mile and take a right on Highland Street

• Take right onto Hope Avenue

• Follow Signs to Entrance into Boston Children’s parking garage on right.


From the North (Route 128)

• Take exit 26 to merge onto US-2 W toward Weston/Waltham

• Take a slight left to merge onto US-20 E toward Waltham/Boston

• Take a slight right onto Vernon St

• Turn right onto South St

• Turn left onto Highland St

• Turn right onto Hope Ave

• Follow Signs to Entrance into Boston Children’s parking garage on right.
