In November, SIMPeds travelled to Chicago, Illinois for the Annual Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) Meeting. We presented a poster highlighting our exploration of integrating VR and AR technology into our digital modeling workflow. In addition, SIMPeds gave 2 talks during the conference. We had the opportunity to talk to other institutions about our facilities and team of diverse and skilled engineers, and highlight our device design and fabrication work with the Academic Research facilities at BCH. SIMPeds plays an active role in the RSNA 3D Printing Special Interest Group, which held it’s largest meeting during the conference. We participated in discussions around Anatomical Modeling QA, file standardization, and the challenges of introducing new technologies into clinical environments.

It was a fantastic opportunity to share our work and learn from other institutions that are integrating 3D Printing and AR/VR technologies into their clinical procedures. This RSNA Annual Meeting was particularly exciting, because 3D Printing and AR/VR technologies were heavily showcased throughout the entire conference, demonstrating the usefulness across multiple disciplines of medicine and simulation.
